The EcoCentre is collaborating with CrowdSpot to partner with City of Port Phillip to bring you ‘NatureSpot’ — an exciting chance for you to be part of collecting important information about the creatures and plants that call our City home.
Record your flora and fauna sightings online, anytime, and tell us what animals and plants live in your backyard and neighbourhood.
How St Joseph's Primary School saved $20,000 when installing a raingarden
St Joseph’s students joined hands-on catchment care to raise $20,000 through Living Water Workbees, allowing them to install rainwater tanks and a raingarden of indigenous plants, funded through the Victorian Government’s Port Phillip Bay Fund. 85% of the water used in St Joseph’s Primary School (Elsternwick) is now supplied from their tanks; and during heavy rain, stormwater is slowed and filtered by the gardens before flowing to our Bay.

Tomorrow's Leaders for Sustainability
Tomorrow's Leaders for Sustainability (TLfS) is a program where an EcoCentre educator will work with the same group of students (up to 25) for a whole term, guiding them through sustainability curriculum, leadership activities, sustainability projects and spending time helping them investigate their local environments.
Our Educator will work with the school's contact teacher to confirm the sustainability topic for your TLfS and to develop the term-long planner.
Expert in Residence
Our sustainability Expert in Residence program provides your school with a tailored whole school sustainability curriculum approach to embedding environment and sustainability education across curriculum priorities and across all classes.

The EcoCentre acknowledges the Kulin Nations, including the Yalukut Weelam clan of the Boon Wurrung language group, traditional owners of the land on which we are located. We pay respects to their Elders past and present, and extend that respect to other Aboriginal and Elder members of our multicultural community.
